The Cosmetology Program is formatted to teach and develop fundamental skills, within the beauty industry. Instructors at the House Of Ahtemu Beauty Academy emphasizes on safety, ethics and the essential entrepreneurial attitude necessary to excel in the ever growing beauty industry.
Objective:
Upon completion of the program requirements, the graduate will be able to:
· Perform skills in the areas of hair styling, hair shaping, natural hair care, braiding, hair coloring, skin, makeup, lash extensions plus nail manicuring and Artistry
· Advise the client on a total look concept that is compatible with their comfort level and personality
· Perform intended service professionally and with quality on the public with confidence for fare trade
· Present themselves in a well groomed and professional manner
· Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skill appropriate for interaction with clients, colleagues and supervisors
· Employ academic learning and hands on experience to make confident decisions

Texts, audio/video tapes, handouts, periodicals, books and DVD’s are available to support and supplement the cosmetology program of study. Apart from the traditional methods used for learning, modern methods like online tutorials and demonstrations will also be employed.
Teaching and learning methods: The program is designed around the requirements necessary for graduation and state board preparation. Clinic relates to the performance of useful, imaginative and practical real world activities. The Program is divided into courses and subjects, these are presented by means of demonstrations, interactive lessons, field trips, outings, and other innovative individualized means of ensuring each student has a thorough understanding of the intended lesson.
